The Australian Kookaburra is a sought-after coin series featuring annual designs of this iconic ‘laughing’ bird. In 2022, four privy mark issues of a coloured variant will be issued to mark ANDA Money Expo events in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
Struck from 1oz of silver with a coloured embellishment, this Australian Kookaburra coin has been prepared with an exclusive privy mark to celebrate ANDA’s Money Expo event in Perth held 4th June - 5th June 2022.
The coin’s reverse portrays an image of a kookaburra perched on an ornamental bird bath among Agapanthus, flowering plants regularly seen in Australian gardens. The design includes a coloured privy mark representation of a Numbat – a small, termite-eating marsupial that was proclaimed Western Australia’s official animal emblem in 1973. The reverse also incorporates the inscription ‘KOOKABURRA’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the coin’s weight, purity and 2022 year-date.
The coin is housed in a superbly illustrated presentation card featuring the words PERTH MONEY EXPO ANDA SPECIAL and the Australasian Numismatic Dealer’s Association’s logo.
