The fifth and final release in this adorable series features lynx cubs.
The lynx is a solitary cat endemic to the remote northern forests of North America, Europe and Asia. This unusual looking feline has a short, stubby tail, and tufts of black hair on its ears, and is covered with thick fur to keep it warm during the freezing winters.
The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality. The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of The Cubs – Lynx 2016 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin.
The coin’s reverse features two coloured lynx cubs in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The inscription CUBS and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appear in the design. The coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2016 year-date and the monetary denomination.
This coin is housed in a classic Perth Mint presentation case within a themed customised shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
