The Perth Mint and Australia Post are pleased to celebrate 50 Years of Star Trek with this unique Stamp and Coin Cover.
Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
The coin’s reverse depicts a coloured representation of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 travelling through space. The design includes the inscription STAR TREK, THE ORIGINAL SERIES U.S.S. ENTERPRISE NCC-1701 and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2016 year-date, and the monetary denomination are depicted on each coin’s obverse.
Affixed to each envelope is an official Australia Post $1.00 stamp. Each stamp is postmarked for the first day of issue and the envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity.
