By 1918, after the Germans launched an offensive that ended the stalemate of trench warfare, the allied armies launched their own counter-offensive that paved the way to victory. Beginning at Hamel on 4 July 1918, the Australians fought a series of highly successful combined-armed battles that succeeded in breaking the Hindenburg Line. They advanced deep into German-occupied territory, and fought their last action of the war at Montbrehain several weeks before the armistice on 11 November 1918.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 99.9% pure silver in proof quality, each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

Just 5,000 of The Anzac Spirit 100th Anniversary Coin Series 2016 1/2oz Silver Proof Three-Coin Set will be released by The Perth Mint.
