2015 Sunburnt Country - Ragged Mountain Ranges 1oz Silver Coin

Several re-writes later, the poem was published in The Spectator in London in 1908, under its original title, Core of My Heart. The poem presented a contrast between the English and Australian landscapes, and inspired patriotic sentiments and a sense of great national pride, particularly in the context of World War I.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 4,250 of the 2015 Sunburnt Country – Ragged Mountain Ranges 1oz Silver Rectangle Coin. No more than 750 2015 Sunburnt Country 1oz Silver Rectangle Four-Coin Sets will be released, featuring this coin.

The coin's reverse depicts a coloured image of an Australian mountain landscape with an Australian Kookaburra. The design includes the inscription I LOVE A SUNBURNT COUNTRY and the line from the poem ‘…Of ragged mountain ranges’ describing the landscape depicted. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark is also included. The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2015 year-date, are featured on the coin’s obverse.

The coin is housed in a clear latex display case with a black frame, packaged within a beautifully illustrated shipper and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
