In ancient Greek and Roman mythology, the cornucopia or the ‘horn of plenty’ is symbolic of fertility, prosperity, fortune and abundance. The horn-shaped container, similar to a shell, is often depicted overflowing with produce, flowers, nuts, gold and other treasures.
No more than 5,000 2015 Year of the Goat – Wealth 1oz Silver Proof Coin will be released by The Perth Mint.
The coin’s reverse depicts a coloured representation of a goat standing in an enormous pile of gold coins and other riches. The gold has spilled forth out of a cornucopia, signifying bounty and wealth. The inscriptions WEALTH and 2015 YEAR OF THE GOAT also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2015 year-date are shown on the coin’s obverse.
The coin is housed in a grey display case, accompanied by an illustrated shipper and numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
