Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin’s reverse portrays a representation of The Demeter and the cliff top Whitby Abbey surrounded by vampire bats.  A representation of a full moon and the inscriptions ‘Dracula’ and ‘The Demeter’ also feature as part of the design.

Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the obverse of this coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, the 2013 year-date and the weight and fineness of the coin.

No more than 3,000 of these Famous Ships That Never Sailed – The Demeter 2013 1oz Silver Proof Coins will be released.

The coin is presented in a wooden case moulded in the shape of a book and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
